Thank you for making us feel like we are at home

So far something compelling has happened everyday of the trip.  On Friday, our last day of the first week, our project assistant/translator, Oguzhan, invited us to his parent's house for lunch.  It was unexpected, but a welcome surprise.  Oguazhan's mom prepared us some 'local' Turkish food and made us feel like family - we had slippers waiting for us at the door, her neighbor joined us, and her husband and another son also came home - and the food, the best meal we have had so far!  We even learned how she made homemade yogurt.  This is typical of the warmth of the Turkish people we have met so far - thank you so much to Oguzhan and his family.

Lunch - Lentl soup, ground lamb wraps, pastries with spinach and salad - all wonderful!
